09

So another year has gone, and I’m another year older.

Countdown was fun. Pre-countdown dinner with family (a very rare thing given all our conflicting schedules), countdown and early morning movie with JE.

Can’t think of a better way to usher in 09.

Need to remember to write 09 instead of 08 for the dates in NS.

6 more weeks to go!

At Last..

.. BMT is over.

Graduation Parade on the 10th of December (immediately after our 24km Route March mind you) was definately a good closure of the 9 weeks spent in Tekong. I’ve made quite a few new close friends, mixed with people I never would have otherwise gotten a chance to mix with, and experienced how life can be when under the iron fist of the military.

With new military knowledge implanted in my brain and a fitness level close to what it was in my peak back then in VS, I’m ready for what comes next.

Posting results out on the 19th, I’m hopeful the e-Posting Order will spell out OCS, but time will tell if I made it there. Although on a side note it somewhat still amazes me why I’m hoping to get there in the first place given how little time (for myself/family/jia en) i’ll have left if I get posted to OCS.

Back from a 4D3N trip to Malaysia (Gopeng & KL). Had loads of fun. White water rafting, Waterfall absailing, shopping, Sunway Lagoon and finally a visit to Times Square before heading back on the Ipoh - Singapore KTM train.

If only I had more periods of block leave. Heh.

Cruise Control

Been crusing on Star Cruises (Superstar Aquarius) last week. One of my few indulgences in life (especially before I head into NS). I must admit it was a very relaxing and pleasurable experience. Just the 2 of us and lots of water all around.

Cost is a bit prohibitive if it weren’t for the off peak season deals, but I guess running a ‘hotel’ on the high seas equipped with a casino (from which JE won a total of $10.20 from), swimming pool, basketball court, bars, restaurants, theatre’s, excellent service, live entertainment, arcade etc.

Stopped by Penang and Phuket, did some sightseeing and shopping, and before we knew it we were birthing at Harbourfront.

And in what might be the most interesting turn of events, I didn’t touch the net once during the whole journey. (Even though the ship had Internet for an attractive SGD$8 / hour). You have my permission to be astounded.

In other news, I’ve added a countdown till NS on the sidebar. Here comes the feelings of apprehension as to what the next 2 years might bring…

Home

… is where the heart is.

Roof and walls are down, and the acute saddness can only be attributed to the moments spent there with my grandma.

“Love lost is still love. It takes a different form, that’s all. You can’t see their smile or bring them food or tousle their hair give them a massage or move them around a dance floor cycle out to mail letters for them. But when those senses weaken, another heightens. Memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it. Life has to end. Love doesn’t.”

- Mitch Albom

Impulse.

Jonathan for the first time, did IMPULSE shopping.
He walked into a spectacle shop (still miss his Oakley deeply), and came out with a receipt in his hands.

TSK TSK TSK!
What can i say.
