Alas. We are DONE
Finally, after 6 days and a painstaking 48+ hours in school painting the mural on the wall, WE ARE DONE! I am feeling so fulfiled that I have no idea how to explain it. Cher Li spent the morning adding finishing touches on the PE Tshirt, we painted our names on the back of the wall and then went for lunch. After lunch came the final touching up of the wall.
Before Farand left, we took a few pics. I originally wanted all of us to sit on top of the wall and take but no one else wanted to. So we ended up taking it while standing in front of the wall. I still wanted to take it with us on top of the wall, and since on one else wanted to, I took a pic while lying on the wall, sitting on the wall and even standing up with my arms outstreched. I’ll post the pic once I get it.
Standing on the wall with no support was dead scary. Add that to the fact that the wind was blowing rather strongly and that I’m not very heavy and you get the idea. The wall was only 4/5 the length of my shoe and Mansoor took a very long time to take the pic. I almost lost my balance on one occasion but thankfully I’m still alive.
Alas. It is DONE. It is COMPLETE. And I feel completed. The closure of my 4 years (officially of course, I’m still going back next year for Sec 1 Orientation Camp).
The Wall Painting Team (in no particular order): Farand, Cher Li, Gary, Yong Feng, Wai Kin, Muzzy, Firdaus.
To the team who took time off their busy schdule to come down to paint, who showed true dedication, commitment and persistance in this project. Who showed that they are true Victorians, putting up with all the difficulties and obstacles in our path, never giving up and never looking back.
You guys are the greatest batch of Student Leaders I have had the privilage to know. May the VS Spirit forever burn brightly in your hearts. I know for sure it will never be extinguished in mine.

Accounting
Haiz. 5 days have gone by and we are only 90% through the wall painting project. I would say that is not good progress, but based on the number of men we now have, I’ll have to say that its quite ok.
Currently, I have:
- blue fingernails
- white and blue spots on my hair
- paint on my feet, legs, torso and hands
- 2 blisters on my right hand
- abrasion on both thighs
- spent a total of about 43 hours in school painting
- and the grand finale: a very sunburnt back and shoulders
WHEE!!!
In other news, I got an EAGLES award for Leadership.. haha.. My first and prob. the last Edusave award.

Redesigned..
No, not a redesign of my blog but rather a change of design of the wall. And it looks good. (Thank you Mr. Liong) I guess thats the advantage of having an AEPer on the team. If only he doesn’t mind standing on the scaffholding that was put up. *hint*hint* Cher Li.
Ok. I’ll take a risk and bring the projected date forward to this Saturday. I have faith that the team (now comprising of just 6 men from the original 10 men) can finish it by Saturday. Main reason for this being that we will whack from about 6am-8am up to 8-9pm tomorrow. WHEE!!
On the busines front, I’ve received my first downpayment. YEY! Though I don’t think i can make my first thousand by this year, maybe because I’m charging dirt cheap for the sites I code..

Another day has gone by… :Suicide:
Another day has passed and we have yet to actually start painting the wall. Many problems popped up, and the most pissing thing is that I did not anticipate it. Bad planning on my part.
At home now resting after training and scaffolding building.. Who would have ever thought that 4 poles would be so heavy? Firdaus should be getting the structure up by tonight with the help of his NPCC mates.. Wai Kin’s drawing the design, so idealy, if everything goes according to plan, the first drop of paint will touch the wall tomorrow morning at around 9.30am.
Feeling so dead tired now. Can’t even muster the strength to go and support Chun Han and Jarod (my badminton juniors). Very, very sorry guys. (hmm, still have no idea why I typed that since they don’t read this, hahaz). Oh well, tomorrow is a new day.
I’ve also been thinking about suicide. Nono.. I’m not thinking of killing myself.. I love the journey of life too much to want to end it. But what about those that live in constant pain everyday of thier lives, who have no family, no next of kin and no one that loves them. Why does the goverment deny them the right to kill themselves?
I understand that if they do have loved ones, the loved ones will grief the death of their departed, but what if the guy has no loved ones and has a high enough IQ to consider the outcome of suicide? Should he really be denied the right to die?

Stocktaking Day
Had training this morning. I think my reaction is improving. Managed to save a few killer smashes today, but then again, it could just be my luck. Oh well, I’d like to think it was the former.
Met up with Farand after training to settle our final preparations for the wall painting that starts tomorrow!! There is this feeling of satisfaction that this ‘project’ is finally becoming a reality after about 4 months of deliberation and close to 2 weeks of intensive planning. I guess for me it provides a good closure to leaving VS. The joys of being a Victorian (sorry, this blog is begining to sound propoganda-ish).
Don’t think I can blog tomorrow. Will be washing, applying primer and setting up a temporary shelter for the wall from morning till afternoon and in the evening I’m off to SBA (Singapore Badminton Hall) to watch my badminton juniors play in the ‘Cheers International’ Tournament. All the best guys. Persevere and fight on, regardless who your opponent is. Winning is not important, juz do your best and no one will think any less of you guys. (Not sure why I wrote that since none visit my blog.. weird..)
