FYP|IC

Basket la.

I’m afraid to ask how much work was actually done by the rest over the weekend.

The way things are going we ain’t going anywhere.

Imagine Cup

Hmm, so JonShonRonVon is in the top 5. The placing of the top 3 will only be released on Monday. The announcement today was a little draggy. They eliminated the teams ‘American Idol’ style, then it was down to the Top 5. They only had space (and time) for the Top 3, so it was off for a round of interviews (rather impromptu but hey, that’s life). Results of Top 3 released on Monday.

Walked to Nat. Lib with the team, started to rain heavily. Ran around in the rain. Heh. But yes, it was fun. Have not done that in quite a while.. =D

Was thinking of things in general and I realised I’m really realy fortunate to have such a great family, friends (VS, MIT and others especially) and one heck of a FYP Team. Yes. The FYP Team. So if you guys (Shawn, SQ, Teck Chau) are reading this, thank you very much for all the effort and hard work put in despite other commitments/stuff. Really appreciate it. No matter what the outcome of the IC competition is, lets press on and finish Bolesis. And lets make it the best FYP project SP has ever seen too! =D

Yupp. I think that’s about it for now. All the best to Fish and company for their presentation on Monday. =)

.

3.98. Basket lah. Still no mood to blog about VS and YTSS Sec 3 level camps (at KOREF).

On the bright side, I received some Model Student Award thingie from SP. But still, in all fairness, i’m really sore about the 3.98.

I mean really, look at the results below. How can you not feel like
a) giving someone a hard knock and tight slap
b) finding somewhere high up to jump from
c) that stupid b+ broke something 3 semesters in the making, which could have been a possible 4th semester.

Y2 S2 SP Results

Hmm

The more time I spend on the DEUI (Design for User Interaction, paper tomorrow), the less I seem to know.

Not a good sign considering how much time I’ve spend staring at the slides (which is a hell lot more then other modules).

Sigh. Its very very very dry, but I still want my 4.0.

Oh well, the sacrifices we have to make.

Alright, enough bitching, back to the powerpoint slides.

Sec 1 Reg + SPSU AD

Hmm, I said I’ll blog about it and since I’m not one to go back on what I say, here it is!

VS Sec 1 Registration this year was a hell lot cooler and more ‘techie’ then last year’s Queue Management system (if I do say so myself.. =D). Added quite a few new features, and moved out the processor intensive tasks into 3 separate threads. Design wise pretty much unchanged though.

But yes, it was a cool experience, manning the ‘HQ’ at the back of the hall where the 10 counters would radio in to indicate the number they were serving next. Thanks to Dan and Mansoor for lending their ears and fingers.

I think if I can borrow 12 laptops from VS next year, I’ll let each counter change their own counter numbers with the laptop and just setup a TCP/IP to Win App gateway through some form of Web Service. Heh. But then comes the issue of messy power cables running all over the shop.

Though I must say the average height of Sec 1s don’t seem to be getting any taller.

SPSU AD was ok. The emcee was good though. As in seriously good. I uploaded the group shot with the MIT people to my Friendster account, so yeah, go there if you want to see. Nice food, pleasant company, good entertainment and MSN Mobile made for a good evening / dinner.
