Missing
Its funny. Something I’ve been missing all this while since I left Victoria just hit me on the bus ride back today.
I really miss the head-on, 1 on 1 competition against another human being that I used to enjoy back then as a member of the VS Badminton Team. If you’ve ever participated, for an extended period of time, in any (1 on 1) competitive sport, I’m sure you’ll appreciate that surreal feeling that only those type of competitions bring about.
Truly Surreal. For the entire duration of the match, its just you, the instruments of play, and your opponent. For me it was my racket, the shuttlecock, and the guy (or girl when the TKGS team came over for friendlies) in the opposite court. Nothing else mattered.
Not my homework (believe me I always had a LONG list of backlogged homework in my secondary school days).
Not the VS cheers echoing throughout the hall.
Not even the fact that I had to skip lessons and fall behind (even more).
Not the fact that my coach would probably have skinned me alive if I lost.
Nothing else but going all out, performing to your best, and then giving it some more. Don’t know if I’ll ever experience that sensation again, but damn it was good while it lasted.
A game of badminton anyone?
MIT Chalet
Whee! Fun! =D
Played Monopoly (Singapore Edition) for 3.5+ hours, learnt the fundamentals of Mahjong, got some reading done, caught the sunrise while chilling out at the Changi Point Boardwalk (or rather tried to since the sun was blocked by clouds and trees) and even played some ‘mass’ games. Heh.
All in all great company and friends made it a very worthwhile chalet. Many thanks to Siyu for orchestrating the chalet. Not forgetting the girls who cooked fried rice on the first day for us. =)
On to the semester (Y3 Sem1) results. I must say I’m satisfied. But you should know me well enough to know I need to find something to bitch about. (Last semester being the worst ever thanks to DEUI). My rant this time being how 3 DISTs only raised my cumulative GPA by 0.004. Bloody hell even the banks give a much higher interest rate then that.
So much for 3.99.
Basket.

Don’t think I can blog about something else until I’ve got FYP out of the way, so here goes.
I would consider ourselves still very much behind time, given that we were supposed to finish and wrap up the coding phase EONS ago. Supposed to finish documentation and everything else by the 21st, anyone wants to wager with me that the documentation won’t be completed by the deadline? (Actually don’t bother, the odds are very much against you if you do). Presentation next week, and then its rehearsals all the way until we arrive in Korea. Gotta get started mugging for ELSA and BRCOM too. Now that 4.0 is gone, that elusive 3.99 will have to do.
Went down to VS for VC (Victoria Challenge) on Thursday. It felt damn good catching up with the crazy bunch of people that can only be described with one word alone. Victorians. Damn. How I miss VS…
Caught Harry Potter @ Jurong Point on Friday. =D Nice movie but yeah, I think it didn’t really live up to the hype. Thighs were still aching from Poly 50 on Wednesday though. Unfortunately, had to head back to school for FYP (mini) presentation after the movie. Haiz..
Its a new week already. Felt rather unproductive last week, hope this week compensates for that.

Poly 50
IC 2007

Yey! But we’ve got a long, tough (and stressful) journey ahead of us. Thanks to all for your support.
Next stop: Worldwide competition in Korea. Different country, same goal; that is to bring home the 1st Place Trophy.
And so this is it…
Final presentations for Imagine Cup tomorrow later. Thanks to all for their support and well wishes. Can’t bare to let you guys down.
Its showtime. Make it or break it.
