The Bucket List Tag
Caught The Bucket List with JE on Friday. Its a truly refreshing movie to watch, and certainly gets the mind thinking about how one wants to live one’s life.
You measure yourself by the people who measure themselves by you.
In line with the movie, we only get one life to life, so heck, here goes. What JE and I will do is that we will both come up with our individual bucket lists. We won’t let each other know what the contents of our list are for now. On the 9th of May 08, we’ll both post the list on our blogs with a direct link to the ‘other half’ (i.e, my post to hers and hers to mine).
Lets see what the results are, if we have any ‘common’ items and what the different items are. Heh.
Online Again
Yup. I’m online again.
After sitting in the office for almost 9 hours without an internet connection.
Gosh.
My first impressions of Accenture (IRAS Office) were leaning on the negative side. First I had to carry, plug in, setup and find a working hard drive with XP installed and the Domain settings configured (although I did have some help from the people there). But my dress pants looked like a war zone after that with the amount of ambient dust lying around the desk / inside the CPU / on top of the cupboards.
Meeting my Project Lead tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll have things to do then. =D
OK. Just compared with Accenture (Main Office). IRAS Office is a couple of steps down from the standard @ the Main Office!! Don’t think I should elaborate here for now. Haiz. Really hope the work is fun. Then at the very least I have something to look forward to.

Updates
Hmm, and now I shall blog.
cBoardPRO
Finally got around to finishing up the coding of cBoardPRO (http://cboard.jonaize.com/pro). Added some new features and optimised the back-end code. Not done with the importing from other tag board providers yet, although I can transfer the existing cBoard users’ tags (no account settings transfer i’m afraid) directly to cBoardPRO.
So if you’re a cBoard user, or if you just want a new cBoardPRO account, drop me a line and i’ll send an invitation code to sign up for cBoardPRO your way.
Twitter
If you have not already noticed, I added a twitter feed on the sidebar. The service seems to be experiencing downtime though, so yeah, you can’t see it yet.
TreeTop Walk
Went for the TreeTop Walk with JE earlier this week, the walk there and back took longer then the 250m of actual ‘TreeTop’ walkway. So we kinda hung around the end of the 250m walkway to make things a little more worth it. Wasn’t really that exciting, walking on steel while we’re supposed to be enjoying nature kind of takes the fun away from it, but the company was great nonetheless.. =D
Wakeboarding
Went wakeboarding (+ Sking + Kneeboarding) at Ski360 on Thursday. Quite fun I must say. Didn’t manage to go one complete round, fell off all 3 boards around the middle of the first ’segment’ of the course, but it was quite an experience nonetheless. Will consider going again, if only just to complete one full round.
That’s all folks
Got other updates as well, but i’ve suddenly lost my motivation to blog. Hehe. Till I blog again then.
Data loss on jonaize.com
At about 2am Singapore time today (10th July 05), the finals of the Fifa World Cup kicked off. Moments before that, my web host emailed to tell me that they, in essense, lost ALL data as a result of some complications in their hardware.
Thus you can see that my blog’s layout and skin isn’t what it used to be. Some (internal) services on jonaize.com are down for the forseable future and I’ve lost data of relative importance on the server which I had yet to backup on my computer. Worse of all, cBoard tags were lost.
If you’re a cBoard user, you’d prob. have heard this a couple of times already. I’m extremely sorry for the mishap. Aparently not all users got the email I pushed out (prob. due to a cranky mail server), so I’ll replicate it below for those who didn’t receive it.
======== cBoard Data Loss ========
Dear cBoard user,
I regret to inform you that the server that cBoard was hosted on experienced some difficulties and encountered Hard Drive errors that not even a RAID-10 was able to recover from (or so says my webhost). As a result, they lost all data and with it, cBoard tags.
I’m not pinning the blame on them as it is actually my responsibility as a service provider to make backups myself, instead of relying solely on my webhost. In that aspect I have faltered, and for that I offer my sincere apologies. The last full backup of cBoard was done on the 25th of December 2005. Your account details, however, were backed up about a week ago and have been restored accordingly.
What this basically means is that your tags are now about 7 months old. In light of the extreme age of the tags, I’ve left all cBoards empty. I completely understand if you have lost faith in cBoard, and if you wish to discontinue using this free service, simply drop me a line.
Nonetheless, life must go on and cBoard will still be offered free for those who wish to continue. God only knows how much I wish I could go back in time just a few days and do a complete backup of my data. But alas, that is not possible. Such is the price I pay for overconfidence.
A good friend reminded me, “Once bitten, twice shy”. And yes, we all must learn from our mistakes. From this day forth, cBoard tags will be backed up weekly (at the very least).
Once again, my sincere apologies for the loss and inconvenience. It is one that you should not have to bear. I do however, look forward to your continued support, should you find it in your heart to do so.
