Macintosh VS Personal Computer

Seeing is believing

THE NEW iMACimac_3_20070813.jpg

Okay, as requested by Jonathan (and because i’m bored). I’ll present to you the NEW iMac, and my new baby =) *wink* yes yes, it’s officially mine now!

YES! it’s a 24-inch 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with a 4 GB RAM! How cool is that?

Okay, that aside before i forget my main purpose here.

Macintosh VS Personal Computer

(now you may not agree with whatever i have to type here but yeah, it’s strictly my opinions.)

Ok, as you guys would have already known (or guess) my vote would most definitely go towards the Mac. Reason being, it’s a more stable machine to work with when you’re dealing with design or heavy rendering (which Jonathan would normally describe as - anything other than programming).

But that alone does not do justice to this awesome machine name the Macintosh. Do read up on the wonders of the Mac, or just log on to http://www.apple.com/mac/ to find out more =) And so, why you’ll love a Mac http://www.apple.com/getamac/

I reckon this should be the best way for you guys to learn more and appreciate a Mac. Because if i go on somemore, it’ll only seem to you that i’m a Mac (mad) salesperson. heh So yupp. And in order for you to experience the magic of the Mac, you’ll have to try it yourself. (& it is so very true)

Now, the Personal Computer, or the PC, (no picture sorry, cause i believe that is what you have in front of you right now, unless you’re using a Mac of cos) is another intelligent machine, I would give the PC the credit for being user friendly and for using Microsoft Windows, the household name when you mention the word ‘computer’.

But in terms of design specs, it’s no where near a Mac, that I dare to say. Guess i don’t have to go on saying about the benefits of a PC. (not that there’s much to say anyway) oops! haha..

Alright, now here is what the man has to say (not in his exact words though) :” I highly respect a Mac, but as i say, it’s no difference since i’m doing programming. But if i’m doing some other stuffs other than programming ( je says : -.-) i’ll use a Mac. =)”

MIT Chalet

Whee! Fun! =D

Played Monopoly (Singapore Edition) for 3.5+ hours, learnt the fundamentals of Mahjong, got some reading done, caught the sunrise while chilling out at the Changi Point Boardwalk (or rather tried to since the sun was blocked by clouds and trees) and even played some ‘mass’ games. Heh.

All in all great company and friends made it a very worthwhile chalet. Many thanks to Siyu for orchestrating the chalet. Not forgetting the girls who cooked fried rice on the first day for us. =)

On to the semester (Y3 Sem1) results. I must say I’m satisfied. But you should know me well enough to know I need to find something to bitch about. (Last semester being the worst ever thanks to DEUI). My rant this time being how 3 DISTs only raised my cumulative GPA by 0.004. Bloody hell even the banks give a much higher interest rate then that.

So much for 3.99.

Updates

Hmm, and now I shall blog.

cBoardPRO
Finally got around to finishing up the coding of cBoardPRO (http://cboard.jonaize.com/pro). Added some new features and optimised the back-end code. Not done with the importing from other tag board providers yet, although I can transfer the existing cBoard users’ tags (no account settings transfer i’m afraid) directly to cBoardPRO.

So if you’re a cBoard user, or if you just want a new cBoardPRO account, drop me a line and i’ll send an invitation code to sign up for cBoardPRO your way.

Twitter
If you have not already noticed, I added a twitter feed on the sidebar. The service seems to be experiencing downtime though, so yeah, you can’t see it yet.

TreeTop Walk
Went for the TreeTop Walk with JE earlier this week, the walk there and back took longer then the 250m of actual ‘TreeTop’ walkway. So we kinda hung around the end of the 250m walkway to make things a little more worth it. Wasn’t really that exciting, walking on steel while we’re supposed to be enjoying nature kind of takes the fun away from it, but the company was great nonetheless.. =D

Wakeboarding
Went wakeboarding (+ Sking + Kneeboarding) at Ski360 on Thursday. Quite fun I must say. Didn’t manage to go one complete round, fell off all 3 boards around the middle of the first ’segment’ of the course, but it was quite an experience nonetheless. Will consider going again, if only just to complete one full round.

That’s all folks
Got other updates as well, but i’ve suddenly lost my motivation to blog. Hehe. Till I blog again then.
