Sec 1 Reg + SPSU AD
Hmm, I said I’ll blog about it and since I’m not one to go back on what I say, here it is!
VS Sec 1 Registration this year was a hell lot cooler and more ‘techie’ then last year’s Queue Management system (if I do say so myself.. =D). Added quite a few new features, and moved out the processor intensive tasks into 3 separate threads. Design wise pretty much unchanged though.
But yes, it was a cool experience, manning the ‘HQ’ at the back of the hall where the 10 counters would radio in to indicate the number they were serving next. Thanks to Dan and Mansoor for lending their ears and fingers.
I think if I can borrow 12 laptops from VS next year, I’ll let each counter change their own counter numbers with the laptop and just setup a TCP/IP to Win App gateway through some form of Web Service. Heh. But then comes the issue of messy power cables running all over the shop.
Though I must say the average height of Sec 1s don’t seem to be getting any taller.
SPSU AD was ok. The emcee was good though. As in seriously good. I uploaded the group shot with the MIT people to my Friendster account, so yeah, go there if you want to see. Nice food, pleasant company, good entertainment and MSN Mobile made for a good evening / dinner.
Happy New Year
Happy NY all.
Quite a few blogs I read have listed new year resolutions, but I’ve never followed the ones I made in the past, so yeah, why risk it? =)
I can (and should), however, do a little reflection. Esp since I didn’t do it last year thanks to the MSTs.
Lets see, 2006 has been quite an interesting one. Many things happening in the areas of my life of which were previously non-existent to the point that I did not know what was missing. (Cryptic I know. But that’s the whole point. =D). A hell lot of new experiences, enriching and mostly good learning experiences.
So yupp, goodbye 2006, hello 2007. Please be nice to me ya?
