Rant
Hello world. Its been a while, so here I am to rant.
Internet connectivity at home these past few days have been screwy. Started off with my old modem router dying on me after 2+ years of faithful service. Went down to SLS the same day to get a new one, fixed it up fine. Next day, I lost my ADSL line. It was supposed to be switched to the other fixed line but someone over at Singnet forgot to complete the switch, leaving me Internet-ness for another day. Think of all the lost productivity. Basket. Inefficient arses.
Went to the NTU talk (Comp Sci/Eng + Admissions) last Saturday. It was quite an eye opener really. And it made me realise that perhaps, SP is holding me back quite a bit with all the Assignments and other misc workload. Apparently, flexibility is not a word in SP’s dictionary. Its really hard to go out and learn more stuff outside the classroom when you’ve got very time consuming assignments and the like with deadlines that have to be met.
Take a look at the NTU’s Undergrad programmes. In addition to the standard Computer Engineering and Computer Science programmes (leading to a B.Eng.), they offer a Double Degree in Computing & Business. And if that s not enough of a challenge, they offer a new integrated Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science) and Master of Science (Computer Science) programme too. 4 years, 1 Bachelor and 1 Master. Heh.
The only problem is (should I decide to go NTU,) which of the 2 aforementioned programmes to pursue. To be fair, SP’s Dip. Info Tech has got a new elective leading to a double diploma in IT and Digital Media (if I’m not mistaken) but that’s about as far as its flexibility goes.
