Math.random()
I feel a random post coming up.
- I’ve finally bought a pair of walkie talkies (at the IT Fair) =D.
- I almost forgot the syntax for the random function as seen on the post title.
- I’m utterly burnt from Sec 3 camp.
- I’m prob gonna get burnt a little bit more at Mawai (campsite) from 16th to 18th.
- The Sec 3 camp and the one at Mawai clashes with both the GMs of the Freshmen Orientation Committee (honestly, its not so much a committee as it is a whole plethora of people, but I digress).
- The familiarisation and Qualilfying Round of the World Skills Competition (Web Design) also clashes with the prep-camp and actual FO camp respectively.
- Maybe the above two points are trying to tell me something.
- I’ve yet to begin coding cBoards’ Admin Area, something I was supposed to do eons ago.
- I’m making amazing progress in coding of the new election system for the VS Head Prefect Elections 06; which might explain the previous point.
- The stuff I need to bring for the camp tomorrow will fit into my shoe bag + waistpouch.
- 22nd March is the day I find out if I managed to maintain 4.0
- I’ve been eating earlier and earlier since my grandma passed away.
- And yes, I still miss her. Alot.
Changi Youth Ambassador
Went to the airport for duty on Sunday. Was stationed at T1 (Transit Area) West counter. It was so damn bloody fun.. =)
Basically my job scope was to help guide passengers, ease the load of the Customer Service Officers and be an ambassador for Singapore/Changi Airport. I originaly thought that I would be very reserved and thus not really be of much ’service’ on my first day. Turns out I was wrong.
My very first ‘customer’ was someone looking for a Supermarket. So I guided him to the 7-11. Cool.
There were about 15+ people I helped in total, far more then I expected. Some had difficulties speaking English so through body language and hand signals, I finally understood what they wanted. Others just needed directions or had questions regarding what they were supposed to do.
But regardless, it was damn fun..
Oh, and Australian and British people are very very friendly. It seriously was a pleasure helping them.. Can’t wait till next week!
Sec 3 Camp 06
This would be the 2nd year running Sec 3 Camp as a ‘green shirt’ with EDUOA. As with running other VS camps, It was a fun and enriching experience. Though I (and the other Victorian ‘green shirts’) felt that the spirit was somewhat lacking. Sad, but times change, and cultures change too. I remember my batch used to shout and cheer at anything and everything we could, now our Victorians need to be coaxed to cheer.
For the benefit of rememberance and archival, I shall continue with writing about it in more detail then my posts normally are.
 Day 1
Nothing much in the morning as we were en route to the campsite. Afternoon’s Raft Building (station I was assigned to) was rather screwed up, mostly because we didn’t get the 1/2 poles we asked for and we had quite a lot of our rope was still uncut. Also because it was the first day, which is by far the most difficult day in camp organising.
Oh. Organic Rice. Tasted like shit at first. But got used to it after a while. At night was slack, preparing the Logistics for Area Cleaning on the last day with a few instructors while the rest went for nightwalk.
 Day 2
No Raft Buliding so was assigned to bring up the classes to G. Lambak (its a hill technically, since we climbed up to just 510 m). Climbed twice (AGAIN), all within the span of under 6 hours. Total times I’ve climbed Lambak? 6. But that kinda makes me want to climb twice again next year, bringing my total to 8. Had to bring down a Victorian during the morning climb, which Calvin helped guide to raundevu (spelling?) with Base Camp.
Afternoon was interesting, someone (I can’t really recall his name) sprained his ankle but was super determined to make it to the top. So I let his classmates give him a hand up (slowly) and shuttled between them and the rest of the class. That wore me out rather fast, but thankfully my leg muscles were more or less numb to the strain by then.
I did, however, discover a new way to keep myself going (and alive) throughout the 2 hikes up Lambak. I made 3-in-1 Milo ‘on the go’. All you gotta do is to have 3in1 milo powder on you, and some water. Empty some powder into your mouth, drink a mouthfull of water and gargle. Tada! Milo! It actually works! But getting the ratio of water to powder is a pain in the you know where.
 Day 3
Raft Building in the morning, not much fun as most of the groups had similar looking rafts and most were dry (meaning they didn’t fall in). Stayed back to help out with campfire while the rest went to Kahang Secondary School for their games.
Campfire turned out pretty well, if you consider just the fire. The programme, however, was rather dull. Think the black shirts should have injected some of their experience into it aye?
 Day 4
Area Cleaning. Back to SG. Pizza Hut for lunch. Home. Blog. =D
Another camp on the 16 to 18th. 42 pax at Mawai. Should be fun.
Why talk when you can blog?
The future of family conversations at the dinner table..

Exams Over
Now that exams are over, the fun ends and the real stress begins. And to think that I actually thought I had time to do a lot of things. wth.
