Exams Over. Stress Begins

As usual, I feel more stressed now then during the exam week. I’m beginning to wonder why this is happening.

But honestly, between the never ending flow of Projects and Assignments from SP, taking a whopping 8 modules this semester, and doing freelancing here and there, I seldom don’t have time to stop and really relax. I’m not referring to the ‘go stand around and stone’ or ‘go catch a movie and chill’ sort of relax. I could always stop what I’m doing and stare at the 4 walls, but that does not bring me peace of mind.

I miss the days when I had absolutely no worries on my mind and could quite literally ‘live for the moment’. Not a care in the world, not a torn in my side and not a pound on my back. Just. Live. For. The. Moment.

I’ve got to accept the fact that those days are but a passing memory. There’s nothing like the freedom you enjoy as a primary / secondary school student. I wish I enjoyed it more while it was a luxury I had.

But its so god-damn hard to be ahead and stay ahead. Especially in the IT industry where the minute new technology emerges, its already out of date. I used to think that competition in both the work and school environment was healthy.

Now I think its just a damn pain in the arse.

We neglect our friends, family and loved ones and distance ourselves from the finer things in life and why? What bloody for? In pursuit of that that elusive GPA of 4.0? In hopes of climbing to the top of the corporate ladder for the fame and fortune?

So I ask you now, what for?

Sec 1 Orientation camp has a moblog. Heh. Its a good use of technology I must say.

The line below is quoted from the moblog (posted by Mr Siow). After reading it, I couldn’t help but smile. Knowing that out there in Changi Adventure Camp, the seeds of what VS is about is being sowed in the new Victorians.

Our school song has a line that says ‘Victoria is something more’ and we believe that this is what sets us apart: the desire to be more than mediocre in all that we do. So parents, sleep easy tonight because as Victorians, they are our Sons too.

Victoria, thy sons are we.

Man does time fly. Especially if you have exams from Tuesday to Friday.
