IT Show 2005
Went to the IT show on Sunday (yes, I know I’m lagging) and bought a LCD Monitor! Whee!! Now I have more space on my screen that I know what to do with, and the clarity on this thing is amazing.
So there we have it, ViewSonic VA721 is my new toy. But seriously, now that I have a LCD, CRT screens are ancient technology.. This baby is far superior. Moving on, I also got myself a USB Network Link cable and 3 USB extenders.
Bumped into Matt Oh there, pleasant surprise. But other then that, I bumped into a few thousand people as the Hall was jam packed with homo sapions. I think about 10% of the population of Singapore was there.
Just imagine what would happen if terrorist decided to bomb Suntec. All those poor innocent computer systems and equipment would be destroyed!! *shudders*. Oh. And of course the people there too lah..
Also, I’ve finally got my Name cards!!!! WHEE!!!! YAHOO!!! GOOGLE!!! The font turned up bigger then expected, but oh well, at least the quality is quite good.
Ok, I know this blog is getting boring, judging from the traffic to my site, so yeah, will try to blog more often. Also, I’m thinking of offering free communi-boards to readers of this blog, but not sure if the demand is enough to warrant me coding it.

Sec 3 Camp
Came back from Sec 3 camp yesterday, but didn’t blog until today as i had 2 full inboxes and a whole lot of mail to read, not to mention IT happenings to catch up on.
So here we go, a trip down memory lane…
First day was normal, reached school at about 6.15, relaxed a bit and went for briefing and assembly. Its been so long since I’ve last had assembly in VS.
Said hi to a few teachers, and set off for Kluang with the other instructor in my bus, Serene. Reached there, saw the Victorians struggling with pitching their tents, and then prepared the things for Topo, which I was helping out in. Topo after lunch was fine. Cycled around to patrol. Nothing much exciting about it.
Second day was dead tiring. Had to climb Gunung Lambak twice in 6 hours. Thats no joke I tell you. By the second climb, my legs were starting to cramp up, and my shoe that decided to give way on the first climb wasn’t helping.
Third night was Campfire night. Whee!! I have just 2 words to say, campfire and catapult!! yupp. Thats right, We built a catapult to launch the fireball into the fire pit.. Unfortunately it only succeded about 3 times, none of which were on the actual campfire opening. oh well, at least we managed to prove that, with more time and better preparation, it CAN be done. And I promise that I won’t stop trying until I perfect it.
Campfire itself, Spirit was strong, skits were funny, and atmisphere was right. So I’ll say it was successful. Besides the launching of the fireball that is..
Last day was area cleaning, nothing much there. Headed back, had lunch together with the other EOA instuctors and went back.
It was fun.

Out for Sec 3 camp. Be back on the 12th
Okie. I’ll be out of action for the next 4 days, going to Kluang for Sec 3 camp. Will blog more about it when I return. So unless I manage to get an internet connection in the middle of nowhere, don’t bother visiting this blog till the 12th. But you better come back after that. *Big Grin*
Whatever the case, I needn’t worry about my ‘communiboard’ being down, caus its run from the safety and STABILITY of my server.. Tagboard.com users, in your face!!

VJC Badminton Encounter
Today I went to VJ to ‘train’. I felt it was very much different from VS trainings as the physical was exhausting but each set only lasted for a few minutes. I was dead tired after just 3 sets. Its either my stamina is really gone, or my stamina is really gone. (repeated on purpose)
Nonetheless, it truly was an enriching experience. Thanks to Michael for helping set it up.. I can’t really say I’m dying to go VJ, but I won’t deny the fact that I’ll be disappointed if I don’t.
I guess this is good progress on my dilemma. I’m starting to focus of the positive side of both choices. Come what may, I will never give up, NEVER Surrender… (I know that sounds tacky, but it came from Star Trek, so there)
In other news, went camp supplies hunting with Gary. I’ve got a water hydration system (just the reservoir). Will use it during Sec 3 camp for topo and Gunung Lambak.
Hope it simplifies things (read: I’m too lazy to reach into my bag to grab my water bottle, unscrew it, and drink). Cost me 18 bucks, but I think its worth it. Also got a utility knife and carabenas (sp?).
Ok. I think I’m gonna have to start training stamina from now. Oh well, whoever said life was easy aught to be shot.

Best Referrer Award
In a desperate attempt to keep my mind off things (like you-know-what), here are the winners of the ‘Best Referrer Award’ for the month of January and February.
Basically, its an award to recognise those who have referred the most number of people from their blog to mine. And now the moment has arrived.. The winners are *drum roll*
January: Muzzy and Li Seng
February: Wee Meng
Yupp, so there we have it, the winners thus far. Will have this every month if I dun get sick of it.. haha.. To the 3 names mentioned above, (as DUH as this sounds) you’ll get a 25% discount should you need a website. *Big Grin*
I think I’ll start a ‘Blog Post of the Week’ soon. Linking to the most interesting blog post I’ve read on the blogs that I read, which is normally those I’ve linked, and those who’ve linked me.
