Poly Shopping (2 of 4) : Ngee Ann Poly

Ok. Went to Ngee Ann Poly today. Just came back not too long ago.

Initial Impressions:
Good. The people there are nice and I didn’t see much ‘mats and ah bengs’. The buildings are starting to show wear and tear. But I’m not conplaining. There were signs along the way to point me in the right direction and shuttle busses were provided for touring the schools.

Friendliness:

Went into the convention center and immediately someone approached to offer assistance. He led me outside to get the ‘goodie bag’ then back in to have a chat with the people at the ICT (InfoComm Technology). A very friendly lady (whom I later found out to be the Director of the ICT) explained the courses and achievements of the ICT. Cool..

Campus:
Big as usual (supposedly 70 olympic sized swimming pools). Like I said, the exterior of the buildings can’t compare to VS. But then again, I’m not judging based on how new the school is. Its got quite a bit of open spaces as well as spaces with tables for studying.

Course:
Course is pretty much the same, although this time, someone actually was there to explain futher. Attended the 1/2 hour ‘talk’ about the ICT, its courses and student life, and found it quite interesting. Although (as i said in the previous post) i think the first year will be slackish for me. But then again, I can use that time to learn even more languages.

General Comments:
A lot more impressed with Ngee Ann than with Nanyang.. So chances are Nanyang is out of the running.. The Library is super cool.. though if it had more computer books, it would be even better.. Generally I had a good feeling about Ngee Ann, perhaps the only thing thats nagging my mind is that it seems quite chinese orientated. I just hope, and from what I have seen, quite sure that the ppl there are not China ppl who can’t speak english..

Next up: Singapore Poly (3rd, 4th, 5th Feb)
